And that is a serious accusation: she could have her membership in the Seven Foot Plus Club revoked! commonboy June 30 2007, 15:24:24 UTC
My only other beef with Nicola Scott - aside from her generi-faces - is that (as Karen Healey points out) when she draws Big Barda, she's not usually...err...big.

There are, however, worse things for me to complain about. I mean, she's no Rob LiefieldMichael Turner. They both have the same face issue, only Turner's are vapid and eerie (amongst a host of other problems). No, I put her in the same category as Frank Quietly, who I also really like despite the fact that he only draws one type of lady-face, too.

That's a fact--although I think Barda looks appropriately regal and...Big? (it's actually federally mandated that you have to capitalize the word 'Big' whenever it's used in reference to Barda) when they go to the crazy Russian Ball. Huntress comes across as tiny and awkward in comparison whenever the two are pictured together. But yeah, generally she's lanky in a way that I can't quite subscribe to.

The medium is the message
money makes you dance
love is a product
the joke is in
the joke is in
the joke is in your pants

sorry.

Anyway, does it explain how a person paralized from the waist down keeps her legs so toned-and maybe even why she does so? I imagine it involves electical stimulation...

It definitely goes to the trouble to explain how she keeps so toned from the waist up--and that's to kick ass. The her legs remain a mystery....A SMEXY MYSTERY.

Have you read any Charles Burns? I just finished the collected "Blackhole" and I need to recommend it to teh graphic novel readers I know. I do feel kind of bad for mowing through someone's 10 year project in a day, but it was good! Also, creepy and weird.

Ok I read all the BoP stuff and I didn't mean to dis something you like a lot (for good reason). Maybe it is because I have read a lot of comics or maybe it's because I am visual person who can't get past the art but I really couldn't see the sharpness and cleverness that you call out in the writing and dialog. I am inclined to think it was the art getting in the way. The one time something struck me as really clever the art was *completely* different from the rest of the books ( ... )
