Ok I read all the BoP stuff and I didn't mean to dis something you like a lot (for good reason). Maybe it is because I have read a lot of comics or maybe it's because I am visual person who can't get past the art but I really couldn't see the sharpness and cleverness that you call out in the writing and dialog. I am inclined to think it was the art getting in the way. The one time something struck me as really clever the art was *completely* different from the rest of the books.
It makes me sad that you are probably right about how awesome BoP is but I can't tell because when the Birds are all together they talk shopping and guys. Which makes sense because they are being portrayed as normal people but their perfectly toned asses and shiny orb-like breasts change what is a normal conversation into a scene from an afternoon soap.
Anyway I am sorry that I dissed it so hard. Your statement that the Birds are good ass-kicking role-models is true I just wish it were easier to see (especially for any young females who might read the books). Thanks for letting me read them.
