Not really. I go with what's on sale, the only thing that I really prefer brand over generic is Dr. Pepper. I can taste the difference.

To some degree, yeah.

If the ad for something uses stats or other scientific evidence for their product, I might look into it further.

No, my friends' choices don't influence what I buy.
