"I'm not saying that werewolves WOULD fight robots; I'm just saying that, if they did, who do you think would win?"

Goddamn I love Corner Gas sometimes, even though the whole thing did hem dangerously close to the "astronauts vs. cavemen" debacle.

Heh. I've only just gotten into Corner Gas this past few months (by which I mean I've seen the first season on DVD). It's pretty damn good.

the second season, I think, was the best (there was one bit about Darryl Sittler that I still laugh about, anytime anyone I know mentions it), but it's definitely the funniest Canadian show I've seen in a long time.

Haha Corner Gas rules!!! Sadly I haven't seen any of first season, and haven't seen anything since halfway through second season. I am contemplating investing in the series once I have spending money again.

It never fails to cheer me up, that show. The DVDs are definitely worth a purchase - second season's my favourite, but there are some excellent moments in the first season as well.

My favourite episodes ever are the the one about the marmalade (we can never go back now!), the one about the new shoes (soooooo funny!!!!), and of course the one where Hank wins the lottery.

I think Cavemen vs. Astronauts is the point of the show though, what else would you do if you lived where Corner Gas was located (fictional BFN Sask.?)

Caveman/Astronauts was actually on a different program (Angel), where it appeared to be nothing more than a cheap throw-away gag, but ended up being foreshadowing for an extremely gut-wrenching moment later in the show.

The entire thing also, on certain message boards I was visiting at the time, turned into an extremely long and drawn-out internerd debate, with some people saying the astronauts would win, and other people being WRONG ;o)

I love Corner Gas, but I'm watching it on DVD, so I haven't seen the current ones yet. I've got seasons one and two, and I've got the third on my wish list.
