Not reading Serah because I still haven't played past XIII (I started XIII-2 but my PS3 is not convenient to play at all lol). But I have a feeling I will like her. I liked her little parts in XIII and honestly I love XIII's characters in general (anyone who hates that game can fight me) so I'm sure I'll like her.
Aerith is such a fun character. I love her a lot. Of all the FF7 characters, she felt the most real to me. Instead of just boiling down to her trope/role, she was bursting with personality. She had the complexity and enthusiasm you'd expect from an actual young woman. Writing characters like that is hard, so I really appreciate her a lot. Definitely my fav FF7 gal. She's probably my favorite character even though I always say Barret (though I love Barret a lot). I'm sad how her personality was dulled down so much for Kingdom Hearts btw -_

Serah’s pretty great. XIII-2 made her unique, and did a lot of cool things with her. I think you’ll enjoy her. (XIII-2 also gives us a really great new antagonist in Caius, who is far more interesting than Barthandelus, and is a little more intuitive in terms of combat, so that’s nice)
Aerith really does feel like an actual person, though I’d argue that Tifa is just as complex and well-written (and “real”). It’s pretty incredible, when you think about it. I agree about Aerith in KH. Like with Cloud (who is a great character IMO but has been beaten down into a boring mass of ugh in so many of his other appearances), she tends to become bland when she appears elsewhere. I liked her in Advent Children, for what it was, but was less impressed with her in Crisis Core. I’ve also been consistently unimpressed with her English VA work, something not helped by the fact she’s had like three different actresses

Also I might do this with SaGa gals. SaGa is full of great roles and representation for women. Plus uh I'd get to fawn all over Grace XDD But it'd be hard to make a list like this since you could literally put half the cast of UNLIMTIED:Saga into it alone, but we still have 5 other games in the series... (well, 8, but the first three don't really have much in the way of characters)
