[ kirk had been slowly making his way towards the holodecks. slowly, of course, meant that it'd be three light years before he ever got there. normally the trek from sickbay to them didn't take so long... but kirk felt that he had the weight of all of vulcan on him now. he was responsible for his crew. for his friends.

and yet he failed.

there was a temple here. apparently it was something the bajorans used for their religion. kirk knew nothing about it, or why he was standing in the entryway. he didn't really believe in a higher power... or more that if there was, it couldn't affect him.

his eyes landed on major kira. but he didn't move to her. she seemed to be in prayer, and respected other cultures enough not to bother into them. ]

[ she stayed where she was a few moments after her prayer; she didn't doubt that she'd be coming back, this place was still a comfort and she believed that the prophets were listening. standing up she kept her eyes on the spot where she'd prayed, as if something were there before lifting her head up and turning. she hadn't heard him come, and gave him a small nod. he looked a little troubled, but didn't know him enough to pry; she respected privacy ]

[ he gave her a small nod in return as she passed by. but then he spoke up. ]

Major... do you mind if I ask you something?

[ she'd been ready to leave, to give him privacy if he wanted to pray or say something ]

[ she'd been seeing the temples 're-fit'. while it was not as grand as it should be, she asked the prophets for their forgiveness - she hadn't orchestrated this, it was acceptable for the moment. she'd been spending a lot of time in the temple, talking to the prophets, hoping that they would answer her now; she'd been sent here by them.

with the entire station as quiet as it was, it wasn't hard to hear someone enter. giving them a moment before stepping out, she watched for a moment, closing her eyes as they prayed before stepping over to her ]

Oh, my child. May the prophets hear your prayers.

[ for the kai to be here, this place had some issues. or whatever brought them here did and she didn't find it amusing. winn had been there when bareil... in a way she still blamed her; blamed her for it being bareil, for not doing something more. and she believed that bareil should be recognised for what he did, not her taking all of the credit. she didn't look at her, and kept her eyes shut to concentrate on her prayer ]

[Odo stepped silently into the temple, hovering by the door. He didn't share the Bajorans' spiritual beliefs but he knew that Kira's faith was very important to her. So he waited patiently, keeping still and silent. He had no desire to interrupt her prayer. No doubt she was thinking of Vedek Bareil and asking for the Prophets to guide him to his final resting place. Where ever that might be.]

[ whether or not the prophets were listening in this place, her faith was still with her as was the belief that the prophets would hear her prayer. she'd stayed kneeled down for a couple of minutes after, having a little private thought in an attempt to put the memories back where they'd been so she could get on whilst she was here. when she stood up and turned to leave she hadn't expected to see odo by the door. whether he was checking up on her or had found something and had come to tell her gave her a good feeling inside ]
