Watch all the people, Major. We're seriously crammed into Northern Sickbay right now. She's over here.
[ kirk took major kira by the arm gently and guided her over to the bed jadzia dax was on. he didn't want to seem forceful but didn't want her to get lost either

[Then she processed what he'd been saying, which took a few seconds because the sedative Julian had given her was still keeping her pretty out of it, and her head was still throbbing painfully.]
Who? Who's here to see me?

[ it was a slight attempt at humour. she wasn't seeing them anymore, much, but she could still hear the gul tittering at her. she'd learned well to ignore things, and was able to do so for the majority of the time
kira let kirk lead her, not shaking off his grasp. he'd been right with the amount of people and she'd easily loose sight of him in the crowd. when she saw jadzia she was surprised. the only other time she'd seen her like this was when the entire station had been struck by aphasia, and even then it didn't seem as bad as this ]

Look who I found while rounding people up for Sickbay.

Kira? Is that really you? What are you doing here?
[At first she was smiling, pleased to see her friend. She'd missed her so much. Then her brow creased slightly in a frown.]
You got pulled here too, didn't you.

[ kirk raised his head and looked over at his friend. he winced, god damn it was so bright now. instead he lowered his head again and covered his eyes with his hand. ]

How are you holding up?

[ He managed to look up at him. ]
What pain killers can you give me?

He passed a tired hand over his face, and then consulted his notes again. Amaryllis' scans had proven fascinating, but he hadn't found the rosetta stone yet in terms of unlocking the secret of her immunity to the affliction the rest of the station personnel were experiencing.
He attempted to stifle a yawn. And completely failed to do so.]

[He blinked, and then shook his head and looked behind himself. Then he rubbed his eyes again.]
I must be seeing things now. Great. Fantastic. My day is complete.

[ he glanced up to look at ... well, himself. it must not have been .58 -- .55 then. the new uhura's kirk. literally. okay now it was weird. but there was so damn many weird things on this station it hardly mattered by this point anyways.
instead he sank back in the chair and covered his eyes with his hand against the bright light. ow. he'd rather get punched in the face than deal with the ringing and the head throbbing and the frank--frank. ]
... you hearing the bastard too?

[ Look at you, Jimmy Boy. Trying to act like you know what's going on and you're in charge. You can't do a damn thing right anyways. See if I pay your bailout next time!
kirk glanced at his other self as if to see that he heard that just now. ]
Tried to kill you--let me guess, .55? The one with Uhura.

He needed a break. He was practically dead on his feet, and now with the EMH here, he perhaps could afford to close his eyes for an hour or two.
But not before checking on a certain patient first.
He moved into the next room, where it was quieter, the lights lowered significantly to help people rest and try to sleep. Silently, he approached Gaila's bed, just to be sure she was resting peacefully and no longer in any pain or distress. He noticed that the blanket she'd pulled over herself had slipped down, so he gently tugged it back up over her shoulder again.]

oh, look who it was. her best friend. no, it wouldn't do to be bitter. any sourness she'd have to express on her own time, so she kept it perfectly hidden. ]
What time is it?

[He gave her a gentle apologetic smile]
It's roughly 2100 hours. I know you're probably getting sick of hearing me say this, but...how are you feeling? Any better?

[ somewhat of an exaggeration, but she smiled back slightly. ]
Yeah. I haven't had any more hallucinations. I didn't even dream. What about you?
