ITA. The Doctor wanted to make Rose understand what it was like to watch your own planet be destroyed. Plus it was a huge culture shock for her... meeting aliens from 5 BILLION years in the future, and on top of that, realizing she was there with someone who is basically a stranger. I love how she totally bounced back from everything. Good food and good friends makes everything better. :-)
HE COULD NOT STOP LOOKING AT HER AS HE WAS SHOWING OFF IN THE TARDIS! Why is the Doctor, who has such an ego, so attractive?!
Even though Rose freaked out at the beginning, she was able to handle it rather quickly. For example, when she asked the Doctor if he was an alien and he said yes, then he asked her if that was alright and she said yeah. Here, she was a little more overwhelmed (but, even he said it in the previous episode: CULTURE SHOCK). I adore this episode (well, I adore every episode, but anyway...) because Rose had every right to freak out and leave him after such an experience. What does she do instead? SHE WANT TO GO FOR CHIPS! <3
SHE WANT TO GO FOR CHIPS! <3 Rose has some serious steel ovaries to keep on traveling with the Doctor after what she just went through. Or maybe she is really smitten. She even pays for the chips!
I think Ego can be very attractive -- especially when it is backed up with startling Ability. I love in this ep when Rose says "You think you're so impressive!" and he very offended says "I AM so impressive!!!" :D
One day I will write the books on "Smart Asses and the Women who Love Them"

Exhibit A: The Doctor is falling in love with his companion, Rose (gif credit to lovetherunning on Tumblr). How else can you interpret that look?
