Exhibit C: The Time Lords are all dead, but the Doctor is going to be okay because he has found someone that cares about him.
And also because he can fall in love with said someone without the Time Lord council being all stuffy about it. Heh.
Exibit D: Lol. Facepalm, for sure. I only really appreciated what a great big space dork the Doctor could be the second time around. And then there was giggling and merriment and talk of cheek-pinching.
Bloose, you're the Woman with Alllll the Gifs. \o/
A. I can't remember the Doctor ever looking at anyone like that, with the possible exception of Romana. B. I recently rewatched the Key to Time, and there is one moment when the Doctor stretches out in a very similar pose to play chess with K-9 -- seemingly for the benefit of Romana. So, you know, I did find Four to be a bit more smoldery than one might expect...... but Chris does certainly take it to the next level -- and you can't imagine any previous Doctor letting someone get so physically close to him, holding hands, bumping shoulders, letting her bump her head against his shoulder like in your icon -- she immediately breaches what few defenses he has left. C. I just spent like half an hour rewatching that scene at the end, when he finally tells her the whole story, and that's what my fic for the ep will be about. d. the Doctor has been dancing and dancing the whole time I'm typing this, right above my comment box. He's certainly cheerful!!
Exhibit A: The Doctor is falling in love with his companion, Rose (gif credit to lovetherunning on Tumblr). How else can you interpret that look?

Exhibit D: Haha, I totally face-palmed when I re-watched this yesterday 'cause I'd actually forgotten about it. He is SO adorkable.
Okay, must get back to writing...

That is a really good point. No one is looking over his shoulder judging him.
