Very sweet!!

And he realised, with a twinge of guilt and certain amount of pride, that after all this time, she was the stronger of them both.

This is SO true, isn't it? Everything she did (and put up with), every law of physics she broke - she really was the stronger one!

I think she was certainly more emotionally strong than the Doctor. While he did have a lot of emotion churn and spill over the edge he was not always honest with what he was feeling. Rose was. Even in the end, she was the only one who could admit she loved him. And I think it's that emotional authenticity that makes her stronger. In a way that honesty also makes her freer. Ten just gets to angst and it holds him back sometimes, so they were good foils to each other. But gawd he is pretty when he angsts! ;)

So glad you liked it--Thanks! :D

This was gorgeous. I have to read it at least once again and very slowly.

You showed an amazing knack in your writing for making his most surreal discombobulated impressions appear to Ten as perfectly natural and normal, and I could see the logic in his not questioning them. That makes it all the more scary for poor Rose, and all the more wonderful for us. The description of her giving him the apple, and the way he experienced it -- wow. (And no comments about where were you in the 60s... except the one I just made)

I'm not even going to try to comment on "What he really wanted was the softness of her thighs where they met at the black edge of all possibility. Those were the only secrets that interested him. " it speaks for itself.

Wow! Thank you so much for your lovely comments!! I'm so glad you liked it! :D

And: As for where I was in the 60s... I just missed 'em, unfortunately. Nope, I missed the space race and JFK and FAB design and beautiful, massive, classy form/function cars and I got avocado appliances, bell bottoms and orange/lime paisley polyester shirts. And hair, dirty, dirty hair.
UG.
How did we ever survive...?
But at least I had the 80s to look forward to in my teens!
;)

This was really, very good. In particular, you did splendidly with the Doctor's hallucinations. There were so many turns of phrase and mental images in that that I really adored. Great piece!

I am so late getting here (I blame the plague, and lj not sending me notifications, and being away and...) and there's really nothing I can say that someone hasn't already said, and probably said it better too.

So I'll stick with "I love this, utterly" and leave it at that :)
