“I do this a lot.” Rose swiped at her nose, trying and failing to hide a sniffle. “The washer’s old, you know, so it moves, it sort of…rattles. Sitting on it feels…feels like being in the TA-”

Oh, Rose. That little detail absolutely broke my heart. Oh, my girl.

Oh, I know. I so adore her, and that was one of the first things I thought of when I saw that picture, that it was absolutely the kind of thing she would do in the wake of that separation. Is that vain to say? Oh well. I'm so glad you liked it!

OH ROSE. This was simultaneously lovely and sad, particularly Rose sitting on the washer because it reminds her of the TARDIS.

Wow, that was angsty...but in a good way. Rose sitting on top of the washer because it reminded her of the TARDIS was perfect and just so Rose. I loved it, I loved that at the end she started down the path that will lead to the cannon and JE.

Oh Rose. I always like seeing how author's portray her coping. I've seen it done with white noise machines and refridgerators, but sitting on a washing machine-I don't even know. It makes my heart ache.

This was bittersweet to read, but in the absolutely best way.
