It's quiet for the most part. My love is sleeping peacefully beside me. The dogs are outside. Crows are cawing, other birds are singing. I've read the threats presented in the news and have felt anger and resignation at what I've read.

I want to write something clever, witty and inspirational today but it's just not coming. I want to write a treatise that will get the attention of our leaders, one that will motivate them to act instead of recoil. One of the saddest sounds I've heard is the gurgly-suck sound made by a pump-activated coffee carafe when it was *almost* emptied by the coffee-seeker just in front of you.
