I was going to comment on this yesterday, but these posts are so funny I just ended up reading the whole meme instead. When I got to the end I was so sad there wasn't any more, then I realised if I left a comment I would get more, so ha! But before we get down to teh srs bzns, I just wanted to tell you that this line from day 10 -
Mind you, at least they managed to confine themselves to just the one apocalypse. Way to exercise self-control, Writers!
made me burst out laughing. *wipes tears*
Okay then. Since I'm in the middle of some weird obsessive Show watching phase, I decided I couldn't really choose among these episodes without refreshing my memory with a rewatch. Because it's important. And research. *cough* So I ended up watching 3.01 and 5.01 (and 2.22, but that was because of a different meme-day post. Just an aside, holy crap these were painful episodes. Wow.).
Anyway, I really enjoyed 3.01, but then again I skipped over all the parts I don't like, so that probably helped. When they brought up the whole demon-army boy-

the whole demon-army boy-king plotline I was reminded again how much I hadn't cared for that, and how happy I am the strike changed it.
Yeah. I mean, I have no doubt that they could have done interesting enough things with it all - this is Show, after all - but meh. We've talked about this, but one of the amazing things about Show is how many plot threads they just drop once it becomes clear it's not working. Like the psykids, although it does make me curious about how that was going to tie in if they didn't change direction halfway and make it into a Highlander situation. What's also interesting is how each time they start to expand things in some way - like the Roadhouse, the psykids, the "demon war" and even the apocalypse, they always ended up bringing things back down to the most intimate scale. That's where the story just works. Anything more starts

Wait, which? 2.22 or 3.01 and 5.01?
Oops, sorry, I meant all of them. Each one is quite painful, and watching all three in a row left me feeling drained. And you know I love me some emo-pain, so for it to have that effect on me was a bit surprising. I had to watch Dean lip-syncing to Air Supply just to cheer myself up.
So which parts of 3.01 didn't you like?
I don't like Isaac and Tamara. I know. I know I'm supposed to care about one-off hunters (or psykids, or randoms), but I just don't. And I don't like the actor's face, yes, I am that shallow. His face bugs me. And while I'm being shallow, it bugs me that Tamara is English. (Yes, Bela, the world beyond America's borders, worldwide demon war, I get it. Still bugs.) There's also Ruby, and try as I might, I just don't like this actress that much, or the way she's written. Add to that the zomg-how-will-we-kill-the-sins-they-are-so-powerful except not, and you're left with some strong SamnDean

Huh, these questions are tougher than I thought.
Ha! Vindication!
