And Dean had seen that coming. If there was one thing in the world he knew better than his music, his car, and things that went bump in the night, it was his brother. Going to get some air his ass. Did Sam think he was stupid or something? Dean had started to wonder...But then. Given what had happened in the recent past, it wasn't all that shocking.
And, okay, he was a little worried, on top of the eye-rolling and snorting he'd thrown Sam's way. After all, neither had said a word about the big 'you know what' between them, just hanging there like the devil in snake form. For all Dean knew, Sam was still jonesing for a bite of the poison apple, and the more Dean thought about it, the more worrisome it got.
Which was why he gave Sam plenty of time to get ahead of him, before stepping out of the room himself, looking first one way and then the other for his gigantic moose of a baby brother. Tracking him was just a little insurance, and if he played his cards right, Sam would never know he was there.
She could still hear Sam's voice. Rose had intentionally closed the journal, cutting Sam and Dean off. The brothers seemed nice enough, but she had better things to do than listen to their squabbling. She had grown tired of being the building's welcome wagon. It was time to get back on track. Rose Tyler was going to escape, find The Doctor, and- she could still hear Sam's voice! The blonde tilted her head down toward her journal. Were they still connected? "Uhm, yeah, actually. I'm sorry about that."
He raked his fingers through his hair while speaking. A bad habit.
"Don't get me wrong, Dean is great, but he has this...issue with privacy."
Which went so much further that Rose would ever understand. He was used to spending almost every waking moment with his brother, usually never more than a few feet away in the case of the car of motels they lived out of, but Sam still tried to preserve his personal space bubble. Yes, It usually failed, but he still tried.
It was cruel, and Rose knew it was, but she liked when she made them speechless. "Ya should be," she continued. "All I was tryin' to do was 'elp ya!"
Rose liked his hair. Sam had a certain boyishness about him, despite being so tall. Barely, just barely, it reminded her of-
Rose exhaled through her pursed lips, pushing away thoughts of The Doctor. Focusing on her little game, she crossed her arms over her chest. "If I say I forgive ya, is your brother gonna jump out and ruin it again?"
Of course he had no idea that Dean was stalking him like some kind of unreliable teenager, but he wouldn't be surprised. The trust issues between them were a mile wide.
"Thanks for your help, though. No one's really made any sense so far."
