I'm torn on whether I like banners on fics. I'm pretty sure I hate them and find them annoying, but damn randomly scrolling by Pullo and Vorenus:

I love fic banners but with some extreme limitations.. 1) They have to look good, 2) the fic has to be good, too (otherwise, it's like, why bother with a banner?) and 3) please no lame lyrics whose vague connection to the story or the characters nobody but the author can see.

That one seems like a good example, assuming the fic is good.

I tend to think that theoretically they probably always suck. First and foremost I'm thinking livejournal where I assume it must be a bitch when you crosspost and suddenly the same banner shows up five times in a row. But then again, I think fic banners also look kind of silly when they are on an author's personal homepage.

But the otherside is that some of them happen to be quite pretty. Like they would work even as standalones, as fanart.

The advertising they've been doing for this CM two-parter makes it look like a bad horror movie. Not that I have anything against bad horror movies (love them, in fact), but it doesn't fit the show.

We missed part of it after the Super Bowl (walking our dogs, ironically), but what we did see was enough to wig my mother out. Dad was thoroughly confused by A.J. and Reid's behavior at the farm. "Are they supposed to be agents?" "No, I'm pretty sure he's a genius...no idea why they gave him a gun." "What about her? She can't be an agent the way she's acting!" *headsmack* (We don't watch the show very often obviously.)

And how do you explain to your mom that yes, Reid had to be the one to get taken hostage and probably tortured because he's the writers' butt boy? Without using the words "butt boy" or "bitch"?

LOL :D

I'm kind of wondering what will happen to JJ, since only Reid seems to be caught in the previews. Will she just talk down the dogs with her amazing dogwhispering powers?

I envision her ending up standing on top of a storage shed, flailing, until the rest of the team comes swooping in to save her.

Ok, probably not the standing on the shed and flailing, but odds are the team will save her from the horrible dangerous dogs.

Well, at least she shot the dogs herself :D

I got confused though. How much time passed till the team arrived? Did they teleport there or how long was JJ standing around in shock waiting for them?

Messed!Up JJ was really pretty though (before I always found her the sort of unappealing bland kind of pretty). But I'm really not sure whether I like her in the field rather than running press interference.

"I feel like it was well done (wow, great job with the dog scene, doing creepy stuff without actually showing anything), but it lacked the certain something something that I've come to expect from CM"I agree with you on that, I think this episode was really just a premise for the next one- I mean, it was probably the sole purpose of that episode (and to show that Dawson is CRAZY!!! I always knew!!! :P ( ... )
