Exam worry

Woke up this morning, had a minor massive breakdown and cried about my phylogenetics exam this afternoon. Rang my mum and she pointed out that I've been revising for weeks and have revised the whole module so I should be a lot better prepared than I feel. But I just can't LEARN. I think exams are ridiculous, there are better ways to see if a student is learning all they need to know...I know it teaches you how to cope under pressure but I'm not so sure...because, personally, as soon as I sit in the room my mind goes blank...I'm sure that is more pressure than you'd find in a job!

I'm sure you will do great on it, your mother is right, sometimes you know more than you think!!

I think it is good you are doing something you love...you may be naturally good at the other subject but where is the excitement and passion? Plus would you really want to be doing the other subject until you retire?

That is what I try and think when I think I should do something I KNOW I'm good at it but don't love...imagine having to do it for the next 50+ years.
