RoboCop was never the suit, it was the ultraviolence and satire. The comic (not movie) of Judge Dredd always managed to strike a good balance of making fun of American Law Enforement while also maintaining a good level of kick ass action. You wouldn't even have to change the overall look, just make the guy more mobile. Even in the movies, they had far better cyborgs in the sequels... Poor RoboCop.

if they redesigned him it would lose it's cheesy charm.
of course some people think robo is serious business. the same people who thought mash the tv show ruined the movie.
on the topic of vague satire... that movie starship troopers fucking sucked though, i don't care what anybody says.
galaxy quest... it was... it was a'right... but all right the first time. not something i would seek out or watch again.
