Brittana Review of "Mash Off"

Nov 19, 2011 21:17

How am I supposed to write this when all I can think of is potential ear kisses? I guess I’ll find a way, but know what my mind is one giant ear kiss full of vertical spooning and thus terribly distracted (and kinda mushy). They really should not release promo pics and then leave us hanging for two weeks. Really shouldn't. But they did. Alas. Woe ( Read more... )

"I have no words for the perfection of that tiny little Brittana moment in Shelby‘s choir room." It was wonderful.

Such an insightful paragraph: "Still I can’t simply drop the Finn of it, [...] who represents everything Santana will for the most part of her life be denied."

"The musical performance of RHI/SLY is one of the absolute best glee has ever offered." 100% true.

This:

"Ps. Go screw yourself Finn, because if you took your head out of your ass for more than five seconds you’d understand that Santana isn’t a bitch because she’s a closeted lesbian, Santana is a bitch, because in a world full of people like you, that’s the only way she knows how to survive without being metaphorically trampled to death through objectification and oppression."

Just...that is so true.

I really want to hit Finn with a closed fist...that was all kinds of NOT COOL!! and he does this after what was done to Kurt? really? I mean that just....I don't even have words...that community doesn't seem like the most openminded...I'm really not in a happy place with the boy right now...he should f- off and die....pew now that's out I feel better but really just what did he tink he was doing? Coming out is never easy, even if you know you'r family is gonna be ok with it!

I almost feel like the worst part is that I understand him, I understand that he'll never even come close to understanding what she's going through or what he puts her through. Which makes me want to set fire to the rain and go live on Paradise Island.

I agree, the episode broke the current formula but somehow ended up feeling more like old school glee than any of the previous ones from the past two seasons. The emotions of the characters got to stand alone, become the centre of the storytelling and the music was only there to highlight what they already felt and had otherwise trouble expressing. I really adore Michael Hitchcock for this, I knew the man was funny, but I had no idea he was such a skilled storyteller. Pleasant surprise.

And as much as both Naya and Heather usually blow me away with their hotness, when they are in these characters I too feel the overwhelming need to simply hug them until all the pain goes away. Right now there is so much pain, it needs so much hugging.

To many emotions associated with this episode. Also what the fuck was Will doing in that office. Get him away from Santana please. Poor bb girl, I really just want to give her a hug.

omg Shelby seems like she would be awesome for Santana. She was able to reprimand her at the same time making her feel valued and respected. Unlike Will, who only seems to belittle her
