Guilty Pleasure

Yes, I like avant-garde music and, as a result of this, find most other music slightly dull and lifeless in comparison. (You know, its a bit like going to a Gilbert and George exhibition and then coming home and looking at your Scarface poster.) However, there is something deeply satisfying and enjoyable about this, and, frankly, I don't care who ( Read more... )

well i had the great unfortunate to get ill while visiting my parents during the new year, and they will more or less force feed you with a mix of 90% strohrum a 80% strength and 10 % lipton tea thats well out of date in a bag. its just so strong and sweet its just sickening! but then it takes your mind of your current ailment.
its the only time my father ever touches tea

iv generally stopped drinking soft drinks now, when you start seeing what it does to you and id rather stop before it starts happening.

There is certainly something to be said for foul tasting medicine. I had to take Dioralyte on Monday (replaces lost body salts and minerals) which I believe only made me feel better because it tasted so foul that anything would have been better than drinking it. I often wonder why medicines don't knock the "great taste" thing on the head and just make pills that may taste foul and bitter, but are over quickly.

I will only drink diet soft drinks on the basis that there's 200 calories in a single glass of Coke. Apparently Diet Coke is the thing to take grease off your windscreen, so fuck knows what its doing to your insides. Still, its probably better than smoking, heroin and compulsive swallowing. :-D

iv heard coke is also very good if you need to clean your loo or descale your kettle .
i cant remember where i heard it now but somewhere they where now deep frying coke syrup in deep fat fryers.
im guessing its up north!
and you can get coke plus now with added vitamins, so it must be very good for you but, i have no idea how the vitamins survive in there:P
hope you'll feel better soon.

Ginger beer, eh? I'm not a fan of beer, usually. Does it taste anything like normal beer? If not, I may try it, as I do like the taste of ginger.

Oh god, soda pop is so terrible for you. I don't know why so many people here drink it. Even when I was younger, I would down entire packs of Mountain Dew and Jolt during my all-night D&D sessions. Mountain Dew is a lemon-lime high-caffeine soda pop, and Jolt is one of the highest-caffeine colas made (it even comes with a warning on it these days). Now though, it's so syrupy and sweet that I tend to stay away from it altogether and drink juice or green tea instead.

I hope you feel better! Are you not eating enough protein, maybe? You can keep your calorie intake low, but still load up on proteins with lean meats, beans, and nuts.

Ginger Beer is actually nothing like normal beer, its merely a slightly spicy and very sweet soft drink that tastes of ginger. I think that the etymology has something to do with alcohol forming before the process of making it is complete, or something. It's an acquired taste though ( ... )
