I'm just going to copy bits from my LJ review (which is too long for a comment, plus there's a bit of personal jibber jabber in there ( ... )

I'm pretty sure the Judge is supposed to be the equivalent of "God" in this universe. :P Though all the bureaucracy makes me think of Supernatural's version of heaven/hell quite a bit. :P

I've suspected for some time now that the "Good Place" might not actually be all that good... or whoever runs it/lives there might not be so good, either. We'll see in January, I suppose. :P

Last night I could only really think about D'Arcy Carden's incredible performances in this ep! But now that I've slept on it, a question came to me that I can't yet make a guess about. If the Good Place has been deadlocked for so long, how did the Mindy St. Clair incident happen? She was merely medium, but somehow caused a dispute even though millions of far better people didn't. The writers have told us already that the Medium Place is real. So is it a discrepancy between the worldbuilding of S1 and now, or will we find out that there was another reason for the Bad Place (or whoever's hacking the system, if someone is) to let the Medium Place case happen?

So far it seems to be pretty sharp and tight when it comes to the world-building, so I'm guessing there'll probably be a reason for the Mindy thing? We'll see, I guess.

And D'Arcy was AMAZING. There was just this ONE MOMENT where I was like, "Hmm, she's over-playing Jason JUST A TOUCH..." And then it turned out that she wasn't actually playing Jason, she was playing Eleanor playing Jason. She was just amazing, deserves ALL the awards <3
