Nathan had spent his time lying back on the cot of the cell, staring at the ceiling in some vague attempt at collecting his thoughts. It was better in a way than sitting in his room, Marni's eyes boring into him from the holopainting near his (their) bed. He didn't often consider the possible disgust she would feel at his actions, not before when it had all been for Shilo and Marni, she would have known wouldn't she? Now of course it was different. He closed his eyes. Rehabilitation and the smell of the streets wouldn't leave him.

The knock made his eyes fly open, sitting up to stare at his visitor. He stood, walking to the door. "Martha." He greeted, pressing his hand against the wall.

Martha wasn't sure what she had expected to see. A part of her wouldn't have been surprised to see some signs of injury on her inmate; she wouldn't have blamed whoever brought him down, really. Times were jumpy here enough people from the barge turning against one another. She walked into the cell, but less trustingly than she would have in the past. "Nathan." The greeting was met with a smaller smile as well, but she leaned against the wall and watched him. "How are you faring? Do you have everything you need?" Seemed like a good idea to start with small talk, then build to the larger questions.

His injuries had been handled for the most part, the worst now being bruised ribs that hardly needed a painkiller to handle. Nathan stepped back as she entered, regarding her questions with a quiet incredulity. He hadn't expected civility so easily.

"Well enough." He settled on, still watching her as he spoke. "Has it- this new curse- has it passed?" He could sleep, which was hopeful.

"That's good." The statement was soft, and she watched him as he watched her. "Yeah, it's done, thank goodness. I missed a lot while I was treating people, but from what I understand, people put blood on mirrors and made it worse, then...something came to get the people who had gotten out." Arms crossed over her chest as she leaned against the wall in a less-than-casual manner.

"What possessed you to attack Captain Kirk, Nathan?"
