A Catalogue of Insanity

Okay guys, I don't know how to say this. It will probably frighten a good many of you, much in the manner that being told you have AIDS might frighten you. (Incidentally, you have AIDS.) So I'll just come out with it: apparently, I am now a model ( Read more... )

MODEL: The introduction to this section definitely gave me a minor heart attack, so well done there. Otherwise, great pictures, really. Should be an interesting endeavor.

GUITAR: Glad it's going well, I'd love to hear when I return.

FENCING: Ohhhh I knew it would happen. Gotta use the skills where they're due.

PSYCHOLOGIES: Uh, everyone's crazy. That's all I got.

LAW SCHOOL: I still have to take the LSAT (when? how was yours, btw?)! And applications? Shit! Am I behind? Have I been blindly eating croissants and throwing responsibility to the wind? Let me know what this is all about since you're at least one step ahead of me. I'm out of touch in this socialist haven.

GUITAR: There must be jamming, despite the fact that I'm not yet any good.

LAW: For next Fall, deadlines are around February; but I'd assumed you weren't going until next next Fall, right? In any event, I did mine early because they have, in addition to the usual rolling admissions, Early Notification - if you submit by mid-November, most schools will get back to you by late December.

The LSAT felt significantly easier than any practice ones I'd taken, but that wasn't reflected in my score. I'm told that was because most people take it in October, so the curve is tougher and everybody therefore scores lower. But I did solidly enough that I should be fine. Studying didn't seem to do a lot, but I'd recommend some level of prep just so you're quick with all the question types and can shift into Logical Reasoning mode easily.

Haven't had a chance to read most of this yet, but what's the name of the modeling agency?

Impact210. At this point it's most likely a scam, so if I have time I'll run down there and kick some ass, or otherwise just back out.

I've seen this before, so it was my first instinct. Then I found some people who agree:

That is a good picture, though. I'm impressed.

BTW, last time I saw this, I found the company (headed by Lou Perlman!) on the Better Business Bureau, which informed me that that company was indeed fraudulent. I don't think the person I told appreciated the tip, though, choosing instead to be stupid and feel emasculated.
