And I will luve thee still my dear, while the sands o' life shall run.

This particular artefact hunt had taken Myka, Pete, Helena and a very excitable Claudia very far indeed - Dundee, Scotland, to be precise. With a deep rooted industrial past, Dundee was a major export of marmalade (with the first commercial brand of marmalade created in 1797), home to a large jute industry and many large publishing companies. So ( Read more... )

Poet, yes? Burns, I mean.

Hehehe, nice little story. And I LOVED the trident reference! And I can so imagine Pete being that ignorant, thouhg I'll admit, I'm still not entirely sure myself about the difference, and I'm in Ireland. I believe I remember what haggis is though. Ewww.

Oh, and that image of Myka and Helena and honey you put in my head? Not sure whether or not to say thank you... ;)

I think the boys' sort of elite singing group when I was in middle school did that to music. At the end it was something about "until the seas run dry." I haven't read the poem, but I like Jim Carrey's interpretation: "My love is like a red, red rose, and I am a little thorny!" xD

I don't think I even remember the exact content of haggis; all I recall is that when I learned what it was I was more disgusted than when I learned about scrapple, lol. Glad you like it, anyway! xD

Never heard it to music before, it is a nice poem. Is that in "The Mask"? He is so funny.

Scrapple? Or do I really want to know?

And happy Burns night to you too, up there in bonny Scotland.

And for those in Pete's position re jam and marmalade, it mostly depends on the fruit used - only citrus fruits make marmalade (lime, lemon, orange), the other fruits make jams. Commercially jams and jellies usually contain extra pectin too. Sorry, my inner nerd is showing again.

Loved the story. Loved the shy and stuttering Myka at memories of Helena and honey too. Mmm.

Thanks! Tis Bonny here. No rain today lol.

My inner nerd is always showing ;-) For some bizarre reason the difference between jam and marmalade always comes up in conversations I am party to. So I chime in lol.

I feel Myka should be forever stuttering around Helena. I know I would lol.

Great line: "Myka opened her mouth to reply but decided firmly against speaking for fear that a stray whimper would escape her."

I loved the way you retconned the trident incident.

Very cute and funny little fic, enjoyed every single line from it :)

This “That one girl with the trident just took it too far though! Spouting on about ending the world, I mean really?” got me in stitches, i mean really?! xD and it was Helena who was SO outraged *snickers* oh, if you only knew darling...

Mmm, i don't care how disgusting that Scottish food is, i would totally try it! after some Dutch courage if you know what i mean ;)

Thank you! *sigh*

Helena did take it too far in the last ep lol talk about dramatic so I flipped it. No more evil Helena :-)

Haggis is so good lol. It struck me as I was eating it tonight that I should use it as a fic. yummy. Most people who have never tried it are put off which is a shame because it is really nice. lol Dutch courage

You're welcome :) Oh yeah, i don't care how unpleasant the food looks like, as long as it taste yummy i'll try it :)

Ohh! one thing i've forgot to mention, that bit about honey *snickers* now that's a nice additional appetizer for the main course ;)

Me too basically. I've had snails before and that was fine - not saying I would pack it for my lunch but it didn't taste bad. I won't if it smells bad though lol. The US bans real haggis anyways, although there are calls to change that at the moment...sad though.

I don't even like honey hahaha I was just thinking about other things like jam and marmalade. And I thought maple syrup wouldn't really work... :-)

I always wanted Helena and Pete to argue in W13 rather than...kiss... ew lol. Like when Pete asked if they should really be looking in Artie's bag and Helena and Myka both start arguing with him. It was funny.

I had to put them in Scotland..and wreck my library lol :-)

As a wannabe future librarian I was almost horrified by the wrecked library, lol. But good work on the Helena/Pete dialogue.

Sorry lol I had just spent a lot a lot of time in my library today so had to let it all out. Needless to say my love for it will be restored tomorrow when it pleasantly helps me find imformation for my essay.
