The fact that mayo is often a sause for it *grosses* me out. And yours looks like some oddball breakfast variation. I guess it's the bacon. I've only ever had it with shrimp and mushrooms.
Oh, my mamasan hook sme up with the everything-mixed-in variation...shrimp, octopus, squid, etc. And of course the bacon. I actually use ketchup, mayo, and the sauce. Apparently ketchup is an unusual condiment for it, but she always remembers to whip it out when I show up...
Although, this reminds me of shabu shabu - what is it about Japanese restaurants and having to cook your own food? Come to think of it, sushi is Japanese, too, and that's not cooked AT ALL.
Yeah, someone else said that yesterday...when we went to Yakiniku (Korean BBQ), which is all about cooking it yourself...the usual Okonomiyaki restaurants cook it for you, but I always insist on doing it myself...
