And, yeah, C and D kissing in their office is such an effective method of self-discovery that it should be taught in encounter groups. Except I'm not sure it applies to anyone but them. Still, you can't deny you'd sign up for one, so I'm thinking we should copyright it now and start chargin'.
You are in rare form, my dear
*wags blissfully*
I held off on posting this forever, whining to BB the whole time: "It's awful!" "I can't write anymore!" "It doesn't hold together!" "Why do I even write these, anyway?" And BB was, you know, patient and encouraging and saintly and, when the time was right, gave me just the right amount of carefully applied butt-kicking. ("Post it. Now. I mean it.") Which helped enormously - without that, I wouldn't ever post, because I am just that neurotic. But to hear that the encouraging patience was right? Fills me with joy, and is totally what I needed to hear today. Truly, you are a queen amongst the Fannish Wombats
( ... )
But, see, certain people have to be reminded to read the famous stories, and of course some folks have to be poked to read the great stuff in fandoms they don't know.
Yes, yes, yes. Don't feel bad. I'm just starting to dip my toe into due South fandom, and this helps a lot. So, thanks.
and also because some of us don't actually sit down and watch the canon until oh say this week and so we find your old posts which we'd clicked over thinking "I don't know any of these people" and spend an evening reading fic instead of washing dishes.

Another person wandering in the fannish wilderness now discovering a safe (ish) harbor. Yay!
I tell you, every time someone gets into dS (canon or no), my withered little heart just swells with joy. Is it not a wonderful fandom? Are there not legions of wonderful stories? And is the canon not a) excellent and b) the slashiest damn thing ever?
(And let us not speak of dishes, not while there is dS FF to read; any reasonable diner would understand that getting Ray and Fraser together right now is far more important than mere tableware.)
Welcome to dS. May you be very happy here. I mean, I sure am; there was a time when every single entry in this LJ didn't contain a mention of Ray Kowalski. If you can imagine such a thing.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is such a story. I won't link to it unless you ask, but know that it does exist, and it's not badly written at all, and so it is soooooooo heartbreaking.
Yes, I am back. Turns out we didn't need the ark after all, which is good, since I spent the time I should've been building it indoors reading smut. (Well, unless the qualifications have radically changed, I could hardly be the most virtuous person on this block, never mind in the world. So I figured I'd let Neo-Noah get on with the cubits while I got on with watching Jim and Blair get it on. So to speak.)

And I created fannish_wombats. Now what do I do with it?
Aside from set this picture as its default, that is.
