Jon Stewart is pretty good, but there are much better points he could have brought up, but didn't.

For example, he should have mentioned that a bigot channel does much more harm to people than Chevy Chase, or anyone for that matter, swearing on TV. People swearing on TV does nothing more than "encouraging" young people to swear and use curse words. On the other hand, someone teaching hate like something on a bigot channel does a lot more harm to culture and society..

yeah, that's exactly what i was thinking when i was watching the interview, and i'm sure jon stewart was thinking the same thing but...he kind of circumvented it. i think he was trying to get the point across that the whole swearing thing is sort of a small point in the grander scheme. but he's a smart enough guy to realize what you and i realized about the bigot channel example (and i'm sure this goldberg guy is too, even though he doesn't bother to talk about it. his book actually reads a lot like michael moore's - it's very funny and sort of right, but doesn't acknowledge that there's another side).

anyway, that's not the whole interview. they actually talked a lot more seriously after this bit. the interview took up almost the entire episode. did you see it?

yeah, I saw it. I don't watch the Daily Show all that much, but I did watch the interview. Good stuff...
