Isn't it frustrating? You really have to plan ahead when you sew to do the coupon thing. I know... Planning ahead is against your genetics and you work best on the fly.

The machine works pretty well in general. Every once in a while it seems like something funky happens with the bobbin thread, but I can't tell if it's me or the machine messing up. I suspect it's operator error :p
I'm working with linen right now, or I will be. Any advice on preventing raveling without a serger?

Look in your books for "French seams." They are the classy way of dealing with raveled fabric.
Or you largely zig zag the edges of everything.

Sewing workshop is Saturday afternoon!

One pm is the starting time!

Exclamation points show my worry that people will show up at nighttime and we won't still be there!

When were you thinking of coming?!

I have to organize a complete garden overhaul Saturday morning. I am hoping to start there at 9ish in the am. I was thinking (hoping) that by one or two we might be winding down. I suspect that most participants will be pooped by then, but depending on how close we are to done, I might just plough on through. We're replacing a deer fence, tilling a 30'x70' plot, then shaping beds and mulching. If I stay til 3, I'll need an hour to get home and shower and gather materials... which are all at Charlotte's house, actually, I'll have to fix that tonight. Grr. Anyway! 4 or 5 is probably more realistic for me. But who knows how things will *actually* go. I will aim for as early as possible because I really have some things I want to work on with knowledgeable people around.

sale policy anonymous April 25 2009, 13:34:47 UTC
Some stores have a sale policy that if you buy something one day, and it's deeply discounted/on sale the next, they'll refund you the difference. Especially if you just dropped a lot of cash.
Worth asking about - just bring your receipt and say "heeeeyyyy".
