Simon got a good look at the stringy, sullen figure lurching over itself on the wooden bench. Shinji's posture held a familiar tone of malaise and misery Simon knew far too well; it was the downtrodden stoop owned by those who had lived in the underground. It held Simon's gaze as he stared at Shinji in a reverential curiosity.

Boota on the other hand, was much more content to be receiving attention then to be giving it; and he climbed up Fiona's arm as she reached to pet him, taking a resting place on her shoulder. He would have climbed into the familiar warmth of her shirt had he the option, but her collars seemed a bit too tightly bound to squeeze through.

It wasn't Shinji's question that broke Simon's dazed stare, nor Fiona's awnser. It was the mention of a way of getting out. Which, Simon had tried completely fruitlessly again and again in the greenhouse.

"There's no way out." He said, his voice choked by the harsh reality of his statement.

((OOC: sorry for taking so long for such a short post :< ))

"There's no way out."

Th... what? There had to be a way out. There was... there was a way in. B-but, he remembered, he had been trapped in his Eva once and that - but this was different! This was a house, not... a monster. Sure, it wasn't as if he had actively wandered through the house and tried all the doors, but.. Shinji hadn't even been able to find his way to the entrance room a second time!

He couldn't even bring himself to cry, now.

((Cut short because LOL CLASS TIEM NOWZ))

Fiona smiled a little as Boota crawled up her arm, finding the little creature to be adorable. Now she did gently pet him, temporarily distracted from the current situation. Simon's answer was painfully harsh, but it was true...she hadn't seen a visible way out as of it. Surely that didn't mean that none existed, though? The heiress wasn't even sure she'd seen all that the house had to offer, she hadn't done much in the way of exploring as she herself had little reason to try and escape. There was little for her to get back to.

Still...there two probably did. They probably had people they missed, who would miss them, much like Courtney did.

"There's always a way out of these things," she stated in a gentle, soothing tone, "It just hasn't been found yet. Have either of you see all the rooms in the house?"

"Well... no. I haven't checked all the rooms... but, I tried to dig under the house and its like I hit some unbreakable glass." Simon seemed evasive, it was true that he hadn't tried everything yet; Kamina would've been upset with him for giving up so soon.

He looked visibly conflicted and upset, twisting inwardly between his despair and his memory of Kamina, already feeling faint and distant in his mind despite only coming here so recently.

Finally, Simon relented, compromising between the two forces in his mind, "I, er... maybe there is still a way, but if there is no one's found it yet."

"It's.... unescapable, then." Shinji said, voice hollow. Then.... there was nothing he could do, and he could just give up. It did bring him a small joy, because NERV - and his father - wouldn't be able to get inside this house, if no one could get out. He wouldn't be forced to pilot, anymore. He wouldn't have to talk to anyone, anymore. He wouldn't... have to do anything. Ikari bent over, rubbing the tears form his eyes, and stood up.
