Mello, it seemed, wasn't the only one with chocolate on the mind.

Donovan and Evangeline stood by the stove, the latter leaning against the counter while the former stirred a pot, humming a cheery tune as he chattered at his companion. "Trust me, all you need is a proper pick-me-up! You'll feel like a whole new person."

"There is such a thing as instant powder, you realize? It's easier." Evangeline sounded mildly exasperated, though not seriously enough to do more than sigh at him.

"Who would want to drink something powdery? No, no, no! My dear, this is real hot chocolate. You'll love it, I promise." Donovan gestured at the small pile of ingredients still sitting nearby; a tinfoil-wrapped block of high-quality chocolate and a shaver, a glass jug of milk, a small cloth pouch of what smelled like cinnamon, and a small glass jar labelled as vanilla ( ... )

Having been slightly preoccupied upon his arrival at the the kitchen, Mello hadn't exactly noticed the two other people there upon first glance. It wasn't actually until they addressed him first that he did take note of their presence, and even then, he ignored them for a good few seconds as he looked through the freezer for a chocolate bar. His sudden hunger and chocolate cravings had cast a rather foul mood on him, thus, he was quite irritable and grumpy, and didn't really want to be bothered with conversing with anyone-- at least not until he found something he wanted to eat. He couldn't just blatantly ignore them... He turned to acknowledge his apparently new acquaintances after having taken a new chocolate bar from the freezer and started to unwrap it ( ... )

"Oh, the pleasure is ours." Donovan beamed at Mello, humming at the pot as he stirred; it was a rather large one, if nothing else; he seemed to be cooking for a crowd. Odd, considering just what he was making, but.... well, who knew? "My name is Donovan, and my friend," He gestured grandiosely.

Evangeline gave him a mildly skeptical look, holding back a sigh, but nodded to Mello. "Evangeline. Nice to meet you." She supposed, anyway. The circumstances--or at least, the setting--could certainly be better. Who wanted to meet anyone else in this hellhole?

"Why, thank you! It's the only way to make hot chocolate, of course." Donovan seemed quite happy to preen, not to mention to chatter about cooking. "It's authentic this way, not some--powdery nonsense." He flapped his hand dismissively at Evangeline, who shook her head, and offered her a spoon. "Now, would you mind taking a taste and seeing if it's ready? I'll just be getting the mallow and cream out, now ( ... )

Mello gave a slight sigh before responding. "Name's Mello," he said flatly; he still didn't feel quite comfortable giving that information out to complete strangers, but he realized that it wouldn't make much difference what he told people here-- and besides, he'd already introduced himself as 'Mello' to those people in the greenhouse. It really didn't matter anymore. He wondered for a moment in the back of his mind what the hell people thought when he introduced himself as Mello, as the word sounded much more like an adjective than a name; however, he was a long way from using his real name. That had been out of use for at least more than ten years, and it would just be confusing to start using it now. So, Mello it was ( ... )
