Characters: Nina Tucker and Every Monster trying to Eat her (But especially Machi) Setting: Going down the stairs Time: Night 015 Summary: Nina dies horribly. Utter lack of cute. Warnings: Blood
Machi was prepared. He'd met his pack on the stairwell, having broken off just before nightfall, the drive intensified by the unnatural tension, thick and choking, almost painful as it tightened around him, heightening the impetus. It only eased once he found them, the build-up breaking and falling away as he scented them in the falling dark and rejoined the hounds, integrating into the pack as easily and naturally as though he had never left. He, too, smelled blood, faint at first, but strong now, hot and rich and taunting--stimulating, in a way that humans were not meant to be able to comprehend; just the smell, the scent, from far away was enough, tantalising and desperate and aliveThere was no thought, no desire for anything, just his need, the hunt and compulsion to kill--they turned for it, seeking out the source and, though he didn't know it, the sensation, the piercing of skin and rush of frightened adrenaline through his jaws, the taste of sweat and meat and the crack of bone, the blood and flesh hot in his mouth while he

Still blinded by blood and tears and trying to regain her feet without falling again, she heard the dogs.
Something very primal and prey like twisted in her stomach. These weren't her dogs, they weren't the ones she'd played with. She scrambled backwards, hitting the wall, breath hitching in fright.
She wanted to scream, wanted to yell for Mr. Chaos or Mr. Johan or Big Brother, but all that came out was a frightened whimper.
Something heavy and smelly hit her and knocked her down another few steps. Her hands came up instivly to protect her face and throat, tiny hick-uping sob escaping her.
Someone help me.
The heavy, smelly thing grabbed her arm with something moist and warm that encircled her wrist completely. For a moment, she was confused, unsure what was happening.
And then it bit down.
She screamed, finally, kicking at the heavy smelly thing, trying to get it away, trying to get it off of her. "DADDY!"
Surprisingly, the female didn't growl; she took the shove in stride, stumbling and regaining her balance within the space of a few steps. She angled outwards instead, slipping around Machi as he pounced, claws skittering against the floor to give her traction as she turned.
Her own jaws opened and shut, a hot, wet vise clamping down on Nina's ankle. She shook her head viciously to rip and tear, only now starting to growl; it was certainly not a killing blow by any means, but a distraction, an effort to cripple and maim--she was making an effort to unobtrusively lend Machi a paw, and make sure that his prey couldn't run away.
Her arm came up too fast for him to hit her throat and his jaws latched onto her wrist instead, the skin splitting beneath his incisors, giving way to open muscle and the bone splintering as his sharpened teeth crunched through her ulna and scaphoid. Blood, hot and satisfying, potent, poured into his mouth, heightening the frenzy, his teeth tearing through her tissue as he ripped backwards, lunging again to seize the long bone and tear it free from the socket while she screamed

Nina screamed, senseless with pain, free leg trying to kick at whatever was shaking her.
Her actions had gone beyond thought, other hand grabbing desperately at the creature above her, trying to jab at eyes. Her hand closed around something cool and plastic and jerking it away.
She screamed again when his head jerked, something tearing away from her body with a pop and a wet tearing sound.
And pain.
Pain like she had never experienced before.
And then a hand, an almost human hand pinning her the wall, she had a brief second in which she could feel him hovering over her, hot sour breath wafting in her face.
She sobbed, swinging her closed fist at the face of her attacker, still being jerked around and torn at by the teeth on her ankle. Unable to stay still for him to attack her even if she had wanted to stay still and die.
