He knew it was a slim chance. A very slim chance. It probably wasn't even possible, but, well, anything was possible, right? Maybe if he was lucky it'd work. It wasn't like he was asking much, after all. He was just going to go to the door, ask politely, and maybe, just maybe this place would allow him to leave. Then he could go back to his honeymoon with Princess and to saner, less terrifying places ( ... )

Joshua looked over as Almaz entered the room. Well, good to know that he wasn't alone in this place. He would have gotten very, very bored with people to play with. "Howdy," he said congenially, waving over with his traditional half-smirk floating onto his face, "Guess I'm not the only one here, hm?" There, that should establish him as a new-comer, since this person seemed to have some idea of where he was heading. It would be nice to at least have some idea what was going on.

The teen glanced around the main area, taking note of the different hallways. Seemed like quite a large place- it would be pointless if it were just the two of them. He'd have to go looking later. For now, he'd see how much this person could tell him. "My name's Joshua. Is this normal? Showing up here without warning, I mean."

Almaz smiled in return, somewhat relieved to find that the other boy in the room seemed to be friendly enough. He had his answer, though. If Joshua had been wondering whether or not he was the only person around here, he had to have just arrived. "I'm Almaz. I guess it's kind of normal," he replied, "For here, anyway. I've seen a few other people around here who were wondering the same thing."

He hesitated a moment before continuing. "And... it's all right now because it's daytime, but you should be careful at night. A lot of monsters show up then.

"Pleasure to meet you," Joshua said politely, behaving for the moment, "I'm not sure whether that's encouraging or not. At least there are people to talk to. It's be terribly boring otherwise, I'm sure."

Though with the monster comment, he might have to take that back. "My goodness, monsters? That must keep you on your toes. What type or monsters?" Fighting wasn't exactly Joshua's favorite past time, but if that was what was going to make this place more interesting, than so be it.

Was this how things were supposed to happen?

Red knew--no, remembered--that the house was weird. Monsters, phantasms, and...and what? What else was there?

It was a weird house, but were blackouts common?

Red blinked, finding himself on the first floor once more. The poor trainer just couldn't remember how he had gotten there. He barely remembered the house itself, save for a few faces, names, and monsters.

The dark-haired boy shook his head and clenched his fist. He could get through this, as long as he had his Poke--

Oh, no.

"Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh! Where are they, where are they?!" A sudden fit of rage and panic overcame him; the boy began frantically searching around, hands repeatedly rubbing along his waistline in a fit of nervous energy. After a few minutes of frenzy, Red noticed the other two in the area. Eyes wide and desperate, he turned to them, pleading. "Excuse me! Have either of you seen six red and white balls around? Or six red and white balls scattered in several places? Or even just one red and white ball

...What was with that giggle? Not that he really minded--after all, everyone had their own way of laughing, and it didn't appear to be very ominous--but there was something definitely something somewhat unnerving about it. Maybe he was just still nervous from the night. "Huh? Oh, that's a good idea," Almaz replied, Joshua's voice shaking him from his thoughts. "I think there are some rooms upstairs, but I don't know if they're all taken. And there's another house connected to this one. I haven't really explored much of that place yet. ...I've kind of just been sleeping on the couches around here, really." It was a little embarrassing, but the truth. Maybe he would take a closer look at that other house. There had to be somewhere open, right ( ... )

"With the monsters running around, I somehow don't think the couches would be a very safe place to sleep," Joshua noted. Yes, an exploration was definitely in order.

He looked over at the new arrival, because let's face it, with the way Red was panicking he was hard to miss. "Oh, I don't mind at all," he told Almaz when he said he would help look, "I might lend a hand too. If you don't mind my asking, what are these red and white balls you're looking for?"

Red blushed, suddenly aware of the frantic way he'd been acting. "They're, um...well, they're my Pokeballs," he explained. "They'd be about this big."; he made a circle with his two hands.

The trainer paused, a bit unsure of what to say. Normally, he'd have been all to quick too present his name and title (after all, being champion of the Kanto league was a big accomplishment, especially at ten years old), but it just didn't feel right this time. Maybe it was because he was missing his trusted friends--after all, they were the real champions of the tournament. With out them, Red would have just remained a kid with big dreams about Viridian City and Indigo Plateau.

But that didn't mean he couldn't at least give the other boys his name. After all, these two had agree to help him, so he owed them something. "...the name's Red," he said, shyly, looking down at his toes, his hand behind his head. His eyes flicked up briefly, studying the other two, before looking down again. "How about you guys?"
