Summary: Kairi tries to read classic English literature and meets Patchouli. Apparently she's far too nice for her, because Patchouli begins to cry by her graciousness, and Kairi tries to comfort her but trips and lands ontop of her instead. And

She stopped before her, now aware that she'd actually have to confront the young girl. Sure, she was just a young girl, but Patchouli was more than a bit... awkward about interacting with her. She'd always been bad with others. She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
"Um..." She laughed a little. "Sorry," she said quietly, "I'm not very good at this..."

"I'm Kairi. What's your name?" She had set aside the book on the armrest, carelessly and forgotten. Maybe if she was in a better place at a better time she would be interested in reading it, but not now - not in this monster house, whether it was daytime or not.

Her openness and willingness to introduce herself so quickly shocked Patchouli and made her feel even worse about how socially inept she was. She picked up the book and quite neatly closed it, making sure the pages were without creases or folds. "My name...?" It took her several seconds to respond. As though she'd forgotten her own name. She laughed nervously as sne kneeled down in front of the other girl.
"My... my name is Patchouli. It's a pleasure to meet you, miss Kairi... um, am I doing this right?"

"Sorry," she said, trying to be as calm as she could before standing to adjust the chair. "I'm... it's just... um..." She paused for a second. "Nobody's ever really been that nice to me, I've never been very good with others. I... I don't want to seem too, um... What's the word I'm looking for?" She sighed in frustration.
Stilll... "A... a hand shake? But, a gesture like that seems... insignificant. I think, I think maybe something else, for someone who's been so kind to me...!" She didn't know what she was suggesting, if anything... and rather hoped she wasn't. That tended to end horribly for her.
