10,000 words is epic by my standard. The longest thing I've ever written was 2,500, and that was /hard/.

Seriously, I wrote one thing that was longer than 10,000 words, and that took me over a year. Well, not contiguously, but still. Over a year.

And in movies and TV they always have keyclick turned on so you can hear EVERY FRICKIN' TYPING SOUND ON THE KEYBOARD.

Ahem. It's as if the audience won't believe the Bad Guy/Hero/Whoever is really typing if they can't hear it. Gah.

Yay for SG:A AU!! Your happiness is our (well, at least my) happiness.

Hee.

Oh, man, yeah, the typing. People don't type that much to use a computer anymore! We have GUIs now!

And I hope it makes everyone else as happy as it makes me! I really hope I eventually finish it. That would be nice.

I was watching Brothers & Sisters the other day and Rachel Griffiths was typing in a password, and YOU COULD SEE ALL THE LETTERS ON THE SCREEN. It bothered me so much I almost ranted about it on LJ, but I'd turned the computer off by that point, and I thought that that would be drifting into the arena of the unwell.

That's totally one of the most annoying things that people get wrong, omg, especially because it's one of those things sacrificed to storytelling laziness or whatever, not because of general lack of knowledge.

Well it was like "the password is a major plot point omgz", but she WROTE IT DOWN AND CIRCLED IT beforehand, so it was just totally unnecessary.
