I think I'm seeing what one of your biggest problems over all is with characters. You really should start trying to draw different styles instead of focusing on anime so much. Look at boxy art like Batman the Animated series from the 90s, something totally off the wall like Spongebob and Disney art as well to help you think outside the box a little. I see you mostly draw long thin pear shaped faces on all your characters and that may be why you're having a hard time drawing the older look. Someone like the General from Atlantis Would be great for you to practice that totally different look. Talk about angles and non peared face. Also you have to break out of the mold when drawing other characters of giving overly long hair. Like on Caroline.
