I am now the proud mother of a brown and white hamster named Pink. She is very sweet and pretty damn calm considering she just came home. Definitely not a biter and very easy going. RHDS picked a good one. Since Alfred the beta fish died a few months ago, zman923 and I thought that RHDS was of an age where he could have an animal that he could actually ( Read more... )

how was the hedgehog, as a pet? i think they're just adorable, but i'm not sure how easy/hard they are to care for....

They're pretty much spiny hamsters, really. They're pretty easy to take care of, especially now that they're gaining popularity. You can get just about everything you need from a place like Petco. I definitely recommend getting a baby so they can get used to being handled right away. Also, if possible, get it right from the breeder, rather than a pet store. Much better chances at getting a good, healthy one.

They're really cute. We were looking at getting one or a sugar glider at one point, but just couldn't see spending the money.

Sugar gliders are cute as hell too, but way to much upkeep for the likes of me.
