Where are all my Clark lovers?!
You know, I love Lex as much as the next Lex-lover, but I'm kind of sick of all the Clark-hate going on in fandom lately, so I'm calling all my Clark lovers to have a conversation with me right here in this post.

carolandtom where are you. I know you guys have my back. I need to feel the Clark love before the season starts. I'll start it off under the cut with a few points:
1. Can I just remind some people that when Clark and Lex started their friendship, Clark was only 14 years old!! (I know in fanon we like to believe he was at least 15--which is still TOO YOUNG, but canon clearly indicates that he was only 14) So, anyone that says that Clark was immature or he should have trusted Lex or Lana or blah blah fuckin blah...the boy was only just that-- A BOY!
2. I am a diehard Clexer and no other ship whether slash or het on the show or in any other fandom can even try to match my love of the boys, but let's be real, Lex had really no business hanging out with Clark in the first place. He CERTAINLY had no business lusting so blatantly after the boy. I can definitely see why Jonathan did not want Lex around Clark (even though I am REALLY not a Jonathan fan for just this reason), but if you were the parent of a 14 year old and this 21 year old MAN was constantly giving him gifts and trying to get on your good side so he could spend time with your child, wouldn't you be suspicious too?
3. And speaking of Lex being obsessed with Clark--because he still is (Lionel's word --at least in "Mercy"--was God), even if Lex may have been privy to the "charm" of Ms. Lang in earlier seasons, he woudn't have known she was alive if Clark hadn't brought her to his attention. He didn't go to nearly the lengths for Lana that he did for Clark. And he certainly did not have a room dedicated to her. It wasn't her arms he went running to when he came back from the dead. He didn't even go see her to let her know he was alive--and she was his business partner! So even if he were attracted to her (and let's be honest, the girl is pretty--even if dull and CERTAINLY no Clark), Lex had eyes only for Clark for the first four years of their friendship. And even after Lana was slowly turning to his side, Lex still did some questionable things for the sole purpose of Clark.
4. This is not to say that Clark is not to blame for a lot of things, but he certainly is not SOLELY to blame.
5. And in case anyone has forgotten, look at TEH PRETTY!!

BTW this is not a debate post about the rightness or wrongess of Clark or Lex or whoever (regardless of what I said under the cut) I will warn you that any non-Clark-loving responses won't get deleted, but will be reminded that this is for CLARK LOVERS with a resounding *CLARK IS PRETTY*--because I'm not in the mood to argue. *glares at contradictors*
