New Vid: The Un-American (Smallville, Gen mostly)

I haven't made a new vid in over 2 years, but I love this song and I love the VRA storyline on Smallville and it fit pretty perfectly IMHO. The vid is pretty meta as vids go, and I draw parallels to the real life heroes and villains of the McCarthy era. Wow! I'd never heard the song before but it's a great match-up, especially with the added archival footage. What a great concept and an impressive execution of the vid!

And thank you very much. I wanted to do this vid as soon as I heard the song, especially after Icarus. But then I saw Good Night and Good Luck (brilliant movie, btw) and I couldn't put it off any longer.

Good Night, and Good Luck is a fantastic movie, very much agreed! Murrow was a fascinating figure and the film managed to do the entire show's context justice (which is pretty impressive).

You captured that journalistic integrity versus patriotic paranoia/exploitation theme so well with the VRA storyline, I must say!

Thanks my dear. I adore this song and this artist, and you know how I feel about Smallville, so I had to HAD TO merge the two in some logical way, lol.

Thank you so much, I actually really like the VRA storyline and I actually wish the finale season was all about that and Clark regaining the trust of the people and getting public opinion on his side. But I do also like that the threads of this storyline were laid "visibly" as far back as Season 8 when the Red Blue Blur "came out" so to speak.

And thank you for pointing out the "humanity and love" aspects because that's what I was going for with the slower moments in the song. And this song is pretty much on my list of all time favorites.
