I'll Come to Thee by Moonlight, part 1/? Author Notes: This is an historical AU, mid- to late 1800's. Homosexuality is accepted but traditional rules of marriage, chastity, and social etiquette are still expected of all couples. Let me know if anything is confusing/worded weird, I'm always open to edits.Isaac becomes Derek Hale's ward at age sixteen and moves away from the seaside to the forest. At night, he tries to sleep in the quiet house and only hears the steady chirp of crickets, the burp of bullfrogs, and the occasional distant rustling among the brush and dry trees that could be anything from a white-tailed deer to a ghost looking for their long-lost love. He misses waking to the rush of the tide, the crash of waves on the craggy rocks, but he doesn't miss the bruises and badly-set broken bones

Isaac gives Scott credit--the other man makes no noise, his step doesn't falter, his breathing remains steady. But Isaac knows how heartbreak can be silent.
I'll Come to Thee By Moonlight, part 2/?Isaac sits at Derek's kitchen table in a new jacket, his father's pocket watch ticking away on its chain. His fingers shake as he checks the time once more
( ... )
I'll Come to Thee By Moonlight, part 3/?"Tell me about her," Scott said, tracing circles on Isaac's bare back with his index finger, sending shivers down Isaac's spine. "Tell me about Miss Argent." They both struggle to catch their breath after their first round of lovemaking, basking in the glow of the parlor fireplace

but Isaac could hear a strain of deep curiosity in Scott's hoarse, passion-shredded voice. This manages to be all hot and threesome-y and nothing has even happened with Allison yet! Guh.
gave him small, lingering glances that said I understand, I feel the same way. Yay, agreeable marriages of convenience!
Isaac blushing at his own dirty talk! *hearts* I love how he thinks about lovemaking and wild animal bangin’ all in the space of two sentences. Basically, sex kitten!Isaac who also frets about Scott deserving romance is my favorite thing.
I'll Come to Thee By Moonlight, part 5/?Allison was never a dreamer. It wasn't that she wasn't committed to her beliefs--she valued peace, strength, and independence. She thought family was the most important thing a person could have. And most of all, she sought to do the right thing, no matter what

(Hey, my ‘Net connection has been dodgy lately, but do know I’m watching this fill. <3)
Derek being a Sexy Lumberjack, HAH. And he would so be one of those sticklers for speech and etiquette!
Derek's eyes glow bright blue in the dim autumn light. Ooooh, okay. Supernatural elements coming?
Hello, Victorian Lydia! The “at least he’s handsome” makes me laugh, like she’s saying “well at least you got THAT part right, Mr. Argent.”
the first woman from Beacon Hills to attend a university. Of COURSE. Love the dreamer/pragmatist contrast between Allison and Lydia!
I am really happy that you went with Allison/Isaac for the arranged marriage, by the way. I enjoy all the pairing permutations of this OT3 and I feel like this is the one that doesn’t get enough love.
JSYK, I am going to wait to finish this, clean it up and post it on AO3 next month. I'm doing Nano, and I didn't expect this fic to get so big on me, and I don't know if I can finish it in a month for this ficathon. But once I finish it and post it to AO3, I'll be sure to let you know. :-)
Love it! Totally intrigued by the gothic-y atmosphere and the whispers about town of the men in the woods and whatever the Argents’ deal is. :D Mmmm yes, hushed passionate meetings and Scott being a perfect gentleman about them. And Isaac having an instant draw to Allison despite everything - that final line makes me grin in anticipation of how they'll all eventually connect.
Hee at Derek and his reserved smiles. He would.
But Isaac knows how heartbreak can be silent. Love this line, especially (it’s so Isaac), and how Scott tries valiantly to rein in his heartbreak, poor darling.
He'd scrub floors, take care of a brood of children, and suffer through nights of passionless lovemaking if it meant getting away from his father. Ow. Oh Isaac Lahey, you always you hurt me so.
They have too many layers of coat and sweater and glove between them but they kiss like they're trying to consume each other. This sort of “layers! but…love!” thing is one of favorite historical!AU tropes. ; )
Aww, thanks so much! This comment pretty much made my day! I'm glad you like it so far. I just posted another segment, and there will be pretty regular updates coming soon. <3
