I'll Come to Thee By Moonlight, part 3/?

"Tell me about her," Scott said, tracing circles on Isaac's bare back with his index finger, sending shivers down Isaac's spine. "Tell me about Miss Argent." They both struggle to catch their breath after their first round of lovemaking, basking in the glow of the parlor fireplace.

Isaac rolled over to face Scott. The firelight gleamed off his skin and he noticed that Scott's eyes are still hungry. They'll make love once more before midnight approaches and Scott leaves before Derek's return. "What do you want to know?"

"Is she pretty?" Scott leaned back on the pile of pillows strewn on the rug and pulled Isaac to lie down with him.

Isaac rested his head against Scott's broad chest and let Scott play idly with his hair. "Yes, she's quite pretty."

"Is she fair or dark? Does she dress in lace, or velvet? What sort of smile does she have?" Scott played at coy, but Isaac could hear a strain of deep curiosity in Scott's hoarse, passion-shredded voice.

Isaac shifted over slightly to straddle Scott. He rested his chin on Scott's pectoral and looked up at him with hooded, mischievous eyes. "You're full of questions tonight. Why is it that you're so interested in Miss Argent?" He pressed a kiss to Scott's sternum and wriggled down lower, kissing his breastbone, his stomach, his navel.

Scott's breathing sped up and he gave Isaac a quirked, love-struck smile. "N-no reason...I'm just...oh god, Isaac." His voice cut off as Isaac sat up and took Scott's cock in his hand, teasing him with firm, long strokes. His own legs parted at the sound of Scott's growled pleasure and he longed to be taken again, he wanted Scott to push him onto the parlor rug and rut into him like a wild animal, claim him. He wanted nothing but to make love to this man for the rest of his life, every single day, he wanted to be Scott's.

But he slowed his hand and sat back on his heels, body pale in the dark room. "I don't understand why you wish to talk about Miss Argent when we're together. I can do nothing to lessen your jealousy, it only makes it more painful." He suddenly felt exposed, foolish--a man of seventeen, soon to be married, fucking like a common whore with a man who was not his promised. He never wanted to be that person...especially not with Scott. It was never supposed to feel like that with Scott.

Scott threw an arm over his eyes, slowing his breathing. "I'm sorry. I know. I cannot imagine what this is like for you."

The worst part was, Isaac could not feel disdain for Allison. They only introduced themselves at their first meeting, shook hands and said their pleasantries, but there was nothing about Allison that Isaac could fault her for. She spoke freely and intelligently, made Isaac feel at ease, and gave him small, lingering glances that said I understand, I feel the same way. And this was all in barely five minutes. He could tell Scott she was ugly and cruel and terrible, but it would be a lie, and how better off would he be?

Isaac closed his eyes and allowed Scott to sit up and embrace him, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "I am jealous. But I will grow used to it."

Isaac felt like he would cry, so instead, he pushes the sheet away from Scott's hips and takes Scott's cock in hand once more. "Fuck me," he whispered, cheeks reddening at the language. Scott's hips stuttered. "Make me forget."

But he knew it would not last.

This manages to be all hot and threesome-y and nothing has even happened with Allison yet! Guh.

gave him small, lingering glances that said I understand, I feel the same way.
Yay, agreeable marriages of convenience!

Isaac blushing at his own dirty talk! *hearts* I love how he thinks about lovemaking and wild animal bangin’ all in the space of two sentences. Basically, sex kitten!Isaac who also frets about Scott deserving romance is my favorite thing.

Can't wait for the rest!

I'll Come to Thee By Moonlight, part 4/?

After his first visit with the Argent family, Isaac asked Derek about his relationship with Mr. Argent

"There is...history between us. Between the Hale family and the Argent family." Derek chopped wood out in front of the house, sleeves rolled up to his elbows and suspenders down around his hips. He seemed unaffected by the cold late-autumn air.

Isaac leaned out from the first-floor window, wrapped in a coat and scarf as the wood stove burned in the kitchen. His body was still pleasantly sore after Scott visited the night prior, but Scott's worrying weighed heavy on Isaac's mind. No matter how lovely Allison was, he still felt like he was committing an act of betrayal.

"Are you friends or enemies? I was led to believe you had a business deal with Mr. Argent, but he insinuated that a deal will only be struck after my marriage to Allison." Isaac was careful not to place blame or point fingers--Derek was not an angry man by nature, but he was stoic. And Isaac was trained to see stoicism as a precursor to something much more dangerous.

Derek stood quietly for a second, wedging the ax into the tree stump. He wiped his hands on his pants. "The business I have with the Argent family does not concern you. And you are not familiar enough with Miss Argent yet to be calling her by her Christian name."

Isaac's face reddened, and he looked down. "Pardon me. Derek, it hardly seems fair that I am kept in the dark about this history when it isI who will marry into the conflict. Does Miss Argent know of this history?"

"Miss Argent knows what her father sees fit to tell her."

Isaac grew frustrated. "And why will you not tell me? What is this marriage really about?"

"This marriage will keep you safe," Derek said, closing his eyes. He was keeping his temper in check, and Isaac nearly cowered back into the house. "I am doing this for you. For the benefit of your future."

"If this was for me, then you'd allow me to..." Isaac wanted to say more, but his throat constricted. He would not cry.

Derek turned to face Isaac and crossed his arms over his chest. He looked older than his years, and tired. "I would allow you to what? Run off with Scott McCall? Is that what this is about?"

Isaac opened his mouth to speak, but he felt like he'd been slapped. "How did you know?"

Derek rolled his eyes, a gesture that Isaac found unbecoming on a grown man. "I know you see him at night. I know he's in the house when I'm gone. I can practically..." he paused, clenching his fists. "I can practically smell him in here."

Isaac took a deep breath. "So you're trying to get rid of me. Send me away, so I will not cause you shame."

"Do you think a youthful tryst in the forest could cause me shame, Isaac? The townspeople already speak of us like we're savages. This isn't about pride or appearances. But for your own safety, I need you to stay away from that boy."

"Why?" Isaac will not cry.

"Because I will not lose you too," Derek yells, practically growls, and for a second Isaac thinks he sees Derek's eyes glow bright blue in the dim autumn light.

(Allison will be featured much more soon...don't worry, this melodramatic Victorian serial will culminate in an awesome threesome. I promise that is still a thing that will occur.)

I'll Come to Thee By Moonlight, part 5/?

Allison was never a dreamer. It wasn't that she wasn't committed to her beliefs--she valued peace, strength, and independence. She thought family was the most important thing a person could have. And most of all, she sought to do the right thing, no matter what.

Allison wasn't a dreamer because she realized that life wasn't a fairy tale around the time most girls her age were getting engaged, working on their hope chests, or going to college in the big, faraway city. Instead, she was at home, learning the family business. It was the family business that killed both her aunt Kate and her mother--and Allison didn't even know what the business was. She was a good daughter, and whatever her father and grandfather told her to do, she obliged.

Even if it was at the expense of her own happiness.

"At least he's handsome," Lydia said, taking a tiny sip of tea. "It wouldn't do to have an ugly husband in your little marriage of convenience." Her lips were pursed and she kept glancing towards the door, where Mr. Argent kept passing back and forth from the parlor to his study. Allison knew they were being spied on.

Allison giggled, but Lydia kept a straight face. "You make it sound so tawdry. My father asked me if I consented to this, and I said yes. Besides, what else am I going to do? Sit in the garden and make arrows the rest of my life?"

"No, you'll sit in the kitchen and feed babies the rest of your life. You'll gather firewood and wash diapers and make your husband breakfast and you won't get to do anything interesting with your life." Lydia was dead against the marriage, especially after finding out it was to be with Isaac Lahey. Lydia had been living in town her whole life, much longer than the Argent family, and she knew all the stories about Isaac's insane father and the way Derek Hale took him into his frightening mansion in the woods after old Lahey passed.

"Don't you want to be married someday?" Allison knew what Lydia meant, but her disapproval of the marriage wasn't exactly something Allison could mend. It was done--they were engaged, even though Allison barely caught a glimpse of her husband-to-be's fine curls and sweet blue eyes before her father swept her back home.

"Oh, sure," Lydia said flippantly. "But not until I've made a great contribution to our scientific community."

"I thought you were studying mathematics?" Lydia went to a woman's college in town--the first woman from Beacon Hills to attend a university.

"I wasn't finished," Lydia said, grinning. "After science I will work on mathematics, then perhaps write a memoir on my achievements. After that, I'll tour Europe, read many books...maybe learn a sport." She seemed lost in herself for a moment, pretty Lydia Martin in her silk dresses and fine shoes and extravagant parties. Allison's best friend was the very definition of a dreamer, and Allison knew every last one of her dreams would come true.

"Those are fine dreams, Lydia," she said, reaching out for her friend's hand. "And they will bring you such joy. But I'm afraid there isn't much more for me out there. The family comes first, and then maybe I'll do something for myself." She gave Lydia a sad, resigned smile, but Lydia wasn't going to take it.

"But marriage is supposed to be that something," Lydia said. "If you will do this for your father, where does the devotion end?"

Allison felt unsettled, and she sat back in her soft chair in the parlor. "I know nothing else. What other options do I have?"

Lydia squeezed Allison's hand. "There are always options. I don't want you to lose yourself to this, my dearest. You must still hunt, and use your bow and arrows, and track. You must do the things that make you Allison Argent, even if you marry this man."

Allison nodded, but her smile didn't reach her eyes.

(Hey, my ‘Net connection has been dodgy lately, but do know I’m watching this fill. <3)

Derek being a Sexy Lumberjack, HAH. And he would so be one of those sticklers for speech and etiquette!

Derek's eyes glow bright blue in the dim autumn light.
Ooooh, okay. Supernatural elements coming?

Hello, Victorian Lydia! The “at least he’s handsome” makes me laugh, like she’s saying “well at least you got THAT part right, Mr. Argent.”

the first woman from Beacon Hills to attend a university.
Of COURSE. Love the dreamer/pragmatist contrast between Allison and Lydia!

I am really happy that you went with Allison/Isaac for the arranged marriage, by the way. I enjoy all the pairing permutations of this OT3 and I feel like this is the one that doesn’t get enough love.

Thanks so much! Your comments make my day.

JSYK, I am going to wait to finish this, clean it up and post it on AO3 next month. I'm doing Nano, and I didn't expect this fic to get so big on me, and I don't know if I can finish it in a month for this ficathon. But once I finish it and post it to AO3, I'll be sure to let you know. :-)
