I have a piece of paper...

That lets me work in Canada for the next two years (for one particular company, but it's good enough for me).

I also have sleep deprivation, and a pot of Comfort Inn's best 'I can't Believe they Call that Coffee' by my side. And a view of a scrap yard. Ahhhhh, Canada.

work, travel

Hey, you should show me your neck of the woods some weekend or other!

Those in-room coffee deals generally are stocked with ass for coffee, but when it beats finding a Tim Horton's or some convenience store at whatever hour of the evening, coffee's coffee, for real.

Hi, i just saw your post on the Victoria community about housing. I'm British too, and am very interested in living in Canada long term, having spent a few months there in the past. I've got connections there, and i'm thinking i'd like to make a home there. I was wondering how it was that you got a visa to stay for two whole years? Something like that would be an absolute boon to me right now, and i'd really appreciate it if we could talk about how it all came about for you.

I'm going to friends list you if that's okay?

I'd suggest a read of the Canadian Immigration Pages (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.html) on the various options. I've got a temporary work permit to work for a particular company in a particular role, filling a need they couldn't find elsewhere ( ... )

I was already there under the Bunac programme as it happens, but had to come back to finish university. I know now that it was a significant mistake to take the programme up at a time when it was going to be interrupted. And when i didn't even need the money. There's a lot riding on this for me.

Thanks so much. By the way, it's the Victoria area specifically that i'm looking to move to. I was living on Landsend Rd. for 4 months the last time i was there.
