But you also have to take into account that this is the first, and possibly only exposure most people will have to transexuality. No excuse by any means, but when a celebrity is going through something like this it makes people think they have license to open their mouths. Those people were out there, and they'll probably always be out there, they're just making themselves known now that they have a forum in which to do so.

Most of the time I'm all for education, but there are some cases where I really hope this is the ONLY time they have to think about transsexuality.

People are so messed up it's not even funny. I just can't believe that that person is blinded by their own stupidity. It's okay to have your own opinion, to an extent...when it brings others lives and well beings into it, then no. Then it's not. Ugh. People make me so mad.

There are fucking ignorant people out there. I don't understand anyone wishing death on another human. I don't get it and every time I am exposed to it I am baffled. Is it because they are afraid of difference and they only know how to react with violence? Did they grow up exposed to hate and violence? Are they hiding behind the "mask" of the internet where they can be crude without exposure? Perhaps they are JUST ASSHOLES. These are the sort of people who kill in the name of right to life and protest against gays at the funerals of service members. They are illogical zealots with no sense of reality.Delusional.

I woke to that news this morning too...she was the cute little girl brought out at the end of the Sonny & Cher show with her dad always holding her. I'm not shocked or disappointed but when you "grow" up seeing someone one way it's a little strange. Still, like they said on the radio today, if any parent can be supportive, Cher seems like the one to be there 100% for her child.

There are always going to be sick people out there saying stupid things regardless of who they are hurting of even if they have any knowledge of the subject. But look at you, you have so many supportive friends and family (from what I can tell from your posts). I know you'll be able to be a strong person through all this and possibly a role model for others in the future.
