Well, in both Niki and Nathan's cases, at the time of their demise, they're both cut off from any curative blood. Still, no body, no death, right?
As far as Hiro goes, it would make sense for the character to at least start the next volume thinking about what he just did, since he's the one most concerned about Superhero Ethics, so much so that he hesitated to punch Sylar's ticket on at least one occasion.
Adam, meanwhile, could possibly claw his way out a la Uma in Kill Bill, considering that his hands could regenerate from the damage. But given the effects of oxygen depravation to the brain, I'd suggest he'd better do so quickly.
I thought I remembered somebody mentioning that Adam's blood works as a one-time curative in other people. But Peter's could be a substitute, you're right. And hey, if Parkman could live after taking four in the gut last year, anything's possible.
Whether Claire and West can get to Nathan in time is debatable; I thought they were still in California. Regardless, we still don't know how fast West can fly (Nathan can/could presumably haul ass -- literally, since he carried Parkman all the way to Texas.)
One more thought: Sylar, thanks to the cure, now has Adam's and Claire's blood in him. That could be bad news.
2) Maybe I missed something, but I assumed that the news conference was thrown together quickly, i.e., they were still in Texas. Were that the case, then Claire might have a chance to get there. Also, in Season one, Claire had a tree branch stabbed through her brain, but she came back to life when it was removed at the autopsy. This means that her blood could just as easily bring someone back to life, regardless of time of death. This seems to be the case with HRG, as he had been dead for a while by the time they got him back to headquarters, and administered her blood.
I'm guessing that the shooter will be a newcomer, since the next arc is named "Villains," but it could also be Noah, since he's newly indentured to the Company.
Could be, but when last we saw him, he was in California, saying goodbye to the family. One thing this series is incredibly sloppy at is explaining how people get around. At least most of the Avengers can fly, y'know?
... I'm wondering if Adam couldn't just get out... Buffy clawed her way from a grave and while he has no super strength he'd heal from any injury he sustained while digging his way out... as I'd assume there'd be a lot of cuts and scratches and such from clawing out from a coffin... I'm sure he'll get out someway but yes, that did cross a line. Shoot the guy in the head and just end it, fine, but 1. it's creepy and gross to torture anyone in that way and 2. you should always be sure the bad guys are dead because now Hiro's just going to end up with Adam wanting to kill him when he gets out.
