Book buying as masochistic endeavour

Okay. I REALLY want the Morrison New X-Men omnibus. Much more than I thought I did, because it's turned into such a chore to get it. Now, my FNSLCS is selling it for cover (i.e. $120 Canadain). So no. Dragon Lady has promised to sell it to me for less, but a strange quirk of physics has rendered them incapable of having a copy for sale when I'm ( Read more... )

Not to add further rain to the parade, but odds are the used one is located in the States, too. :P Have you tried eBay?

Shit, that's probably true too. eBay just isn't my friend anymore. Too easy, you know?

It's a big 'ol book, true. I think I would leave it next to my copy of FREd just to see what they'd do. Possibly mate.

Whatever you end up paying is totally worth it.

At this point I'd be better off eating Morrison's brain and absorbing the story that way. It would be easier.

This seller will shipt to Canada for $10 US, I'm not sure how that compares to Amazon, but their price is at least competative with the other options you have listed above. Hope this helps. ANd If there is anyhting I can do as a Stateside Bitterite to help out, let me know.

how long of a wait is it through chapters? sometimes if it's a week it's worth it as it would probably take you that long to find it anyway...

The problem is they don't have it in stock, and don't indicate how long it will be until they do.

Well,

Keep your eyes open. The problem with the book is that Diamond ships marvel stuff. Diamond doesn't have any proper distribution set up for Canada. So Indigo has to make mass purchases and sit on them until over all quantities go down, and then make another purchase. Its just too hard and expensive to keep constant open channels with Diamond as everything has to come up from the states, rather than a warehouse here in Canada.

Any idea as to the frequency they get them? I've got a coupon that I'd like to use.
