Exciting day yesterday, yes. After breakfast, atomiks came by to help me go bike shoppin'. We looked at a model, and thought it looked good, and then the salesman came out with the exact same model, but a couple years old. atomiks gave it a once over to make sure it looked 'legit' (ie not turned over) and we picked it up for a lot less than the newer version ( Read more... )

Before game yesterday, I picked up a copy of Star Munchkinfor Cynra & I (well, I picked it up for myself and got Cynra a bath kit). Went to melskunk's brother in law's store to pick it up, and they were having a going out of business sale.

Basilisk Dreams, the SF bookstore in Ottawa, has apparently shut down.

Which is a shame. The owner was an old GM of mine (TORG GM, too, which makes him brave and foolish), and while a bit of an odd duck, was a not bad guy.

Not enough good game or book stores out there. It'll be missed.
