Good workrate for a documentary

The documentary Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows has been posted to the NFB's website.

It's a great documentary about Bret Hart's last days with the then-WWF, and tells a lot of the tale of the Montreal Screwjob.

I shall have to give it a watch when I get home.

If I can access this content from the US, I am so watching it when I get home too. The Hart family saga is incredible and sad and all sortsa things, so I'll watch or read whatever I can about it.

(slightly related: Bobby Heenan's memoirs are excellent.)

I actually said to a friend a couple PPVs ago that I hoped we'd get a book from Heenan. Excellent, I must find it.

Let me know if you can access it. AFAIK the NFB is cool with people seeing stuff.

It's a good movie, gives a lot of insight into the inside workings of the wrestling biz and of Harts personal life and family.

Very interesting movie

Indeed. Did you get to read his autobiography? Excellent book.

I remember watching the infamous match at home and not knowing what the hell was going on, just thinking, "Hey, it didn't look like he tapped out..."

And while never a huge Hitman fan, I always felt it was a shame he jumped ship to be wasted in WCW and get kicked in the head by Goldberg.

The film actually details why he left the WWF. Vince apparently asked him to, since they couldn't afford to honour the contract they had him sign.
