Recently Lam and I have been talking a lot about the difficulties involved in creating a more equitable society in China. I do not mean to imply that Lam agrees with me, in fact he often doesn't. heck, I can't talk to most folks within my OWN frame of reference about this stuff. It's not just China, it's everytwhere.

Yeah, I know. But in the USA there's at least the idea that people should do things for "the greater good," volunteerism, etc., even if it's most often motivated by social position and tends to be of the band-aid mode rather than of the solve the causes mode. Still kind of sad that the only thing I can do is pull a kitten out from under a tennis bench.
