I'd kill to know exactly what it is Lennon has in his hands.

Yep, I believe them are John's glasses. Makes sense.

John's hair sort of looks James Dean-ish.

He really worked that look. I think late 50s John/early 60s (before the 'official Beatle' makeover) was a great look for him.

Wow, that is a great picture! I cannot wait for the book, it's my Christmas present to myself!!!! :) I wonder what all new pics/facts will be in it? A true labour of love, 1000 pages with more to follow! I want to just cuddle under the covers and immerse myself in the book!!!!

I hadn't considered they might be John's, since we've seen other pics of Paul with glasses. I'm one of those who thinks Paul might be the guy on the bike in that photo from July 6, 1957 of the Quarrymen on stage, and he's wearing glasses.
