"Wow, Isis, thank you!" he returns the favor with a bottle of his own. "Picked this up on a recent trip up to Napa Valley, it's quite good. ...It's on Earth, California, and about fifty miles north of my city. It resembles wine-growing conditions in France, so it's a famous area." He'll continue on and on about this if allowed.
I know! It's a little hobby of mine to study the different systems and how they're alike, and how they're different. It's massively fascinating to see how they blend together.
Still a bit wary about mixing magics from different worlds, but thus far, I haven't had too many mishaps.
I've had good luck mixing magical traditions from my own world, but I haven't tried blending different worlds'. Although, Professor Snape got me to use his wand one time in my own world, and the results were pretty bizarre. It was like I drew too much power and then it didn't want to discharge in the right direction. Maybe I was fighting the wand itself for focus.
Uh...yeah. That was random. Maybe we could talk shop sometime.
I haven't had a chance to attempt to use one of the wands from the Wizarding worlds, though I imagine it'll be massively different from using just my hands, or my staff.
I've been a bit wary of it, as I've only heard that it usually leads to bad and explosive results, and Eiko has something called 'Materia' here and I've been able to use it, after a few flubs with the unfamiliar spell system. I think I managed to use a spell called "Cure" after doing a rather bright flash by accident.
Talking shop should be interesting.

Dear Isis,
This is great. One of the things I love about the Nexus is getting to hear about the way different worlds do magic. Thank you! Merry Christmas.
