Well... to be honest the last GOOD book I've read from Wildstorm was Gail Simone's Gen 13 relaunch. The other core books have been floundering pretty badly.
I kind of agree, but I think Beechen showed promise on WildCATS. If he hadn't been juggling eighteen-billion characters and paired with a less T&A-happy artist, I think he really might have had something.
This is particularly "ARGH"-worthy because Jim Lee left Image for DC specifically to help the WildStorm imporint! >_< So much for that.
I wonder if it's like that article says; if it's DC's fault and if WildStorm had stuck with Image, they'd still be alive? It's true that DC's red tape would limit the writers/artists that could work on the books, but on the other hand, Image's "creator-owned" stand wouldn't necessarily have produces better talent.
It's so hard to say. :(
I'm hopeful that the characters aren't dead; maybe we'll go back to mini-series and closed storylines, those always worked well for the Authority.
From what I understand Jim Lee went to DC for a shitload of cash. *lol*
I don't think DC was acting out of malice, but they HORRIBLY mishandled the Wildstorm books. I mean just look at Alan Moore, The Boys, the stillborn Worldstorm relaunch... it's been a mess.
Hah! Point, it is about the Benjamins in the end; and now that Jim's a Big Man in DC as a whole, he's pretty okay with throwing WildStorm to the side.
The Boys? The Boys is really successful over at Avatar, a major seller in both single issue and trade form...did it start as a WildStorm book? What happened?
The Boys started at DC/Wildstorm, but it offended Levitz too much, so DC canned it. Ennis took it to Dynamite and have been rolling in the dough since then.
I KNOW. There are not enough icons of Midnighter kicking things in the world to express my frustration. I mean, you know I wasn't crazy about Wildcats etc. but shit, at least the characters weren't in mothballs. I bloody shudder to think how Midnighter/Apollo will look when they're jobbing for DC full-time :(

I'll, er, have something more coherent to say when I'm not almost crying.
