Pardon my surprise, Your Grace...the mind and body of a feeble woman?

I had heard of the backward ways of l'Anglaise but had not realised that it extended so far that a daughter of kings would regard herself such. I never took it ill to sit upon the Throne of St. Peter when Papa needed me to fill his vacancy, nor did the Cardinals of Holy Mother Church find this at all at odds with their will.

When you are in Ferrara, I should count it a great honour to house such a noble personage such as Your Grace.

Lucrece d'Este
Duchess of Ferrara

"Unfortunately, we women who find ourselves in positions of power must sometimes acquiesce to the language and temperament of the day. Alas, men still regard it as their world - even though We have the Greatest Empire in both the Old and New Worlds. "

"I thank you most heartily for your gracious invitation. I have always wanted to see Ferrara."

Eric blinks at meeting the Queen and bows respectfully, remembering his court training for his upcoming movie about this Queen's father. "It's a pleasure to meet the greatest of England's Queens."

Elizabeth smiles at him, "I do not know that I am the 'greatest' of England's Queens, Sir. However, I do hope that with God's grace and the love of My people we shall bring England into a great golden era of prosperity and peace. Welcome, indeed, to you!"

"From what we have seen of your descendants ma'am, I think it is safe to say that there has never been a Queen such as yourself." Eric answers honestly, airbrushing a kiss to the knuckles of the extended hand.

Ah, your grace, it is indeed a pleasure to make your acquaintance.

I am called Loki.

"Loki! What a curious name. Are you similar to that Deity of Mischief that I have heard stories of since I was a young girl at Hatfield."

"I do like your spectacles, Sir! They suit you quite well!"

He laughs, "I am not only similar to him, m'lady, I am him."

And he bows, "why thank you."

I ne'er thought to lay eyes on the queen who showed such unprecedented generosity to those of my own humble profession. *bows at the waist, quite formally* A pleasure indeed, Your Grace.

"And by the looks of you, I would say that you are a man of the sea, are you not? We are most glad to have men such as yourself keeping our shores safe from both Spain and those who would wish to do us ill."

Elizabeth studies him, "You look very familiar, to me, Sir. The resemblence you bear to Sir Francis Walsingham is uncanny!"

How now? Thy people loved thee well,
How come you here, now? Wilst thou tell?
For me, "Queen" hath a different ring,
*He sweeps a bow,* Now, doest thou sing?

(Mun is absolutely delighted and a reserved British squeeee! This muse is really old, so if the language is too archiatic tell just tell him and he'll switch.)
